The Stockings Were Hung…

Ours are hung on fun ladders I bought because we don’t have a fireplace but it all works out. Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse. Except me and the dog who got up at our normal 6:15am time. I made Monkey Bread, which will be ready when the kids finally wake up.

Last night, I specifically reminded them that they were to wait till at least 7am and are not allowed to go downstairs under any circumstances. I like for all of them to come down together to see the tree. It’s a tradition of ours.

As for the Monkey Bread, it’s been about six years since I’ve made it. They are so excited for it. Six years ago, I caught our oven on fire because the sugar leaked out and caught fire. It was the day of my daughter’s birthday party and our whole house smelled like smoke. Needless to say, I’m a little trigger happy this year. I made sure there was a tray underneath to catch any drippings.

All is well and quiet for the time being, as the dog and I sit and wait.
