The Minivan Life
October 8, 2019
While watching American Housewife the other night, they were talking about going through the rite of passage: getting rid of their minivan.
On my walk this morning with the dog, I was thinking about our minivan and how it has so much life left, or does it?
When it was time to go from one to two kids, we upgraded our sedan to the Honda Odyssey. That was TEN years ago. Knowing that we have a great brand of car, it was going to last for a long time.
And it has! Our van is coming up on 200,000 miles and it fun to see this milestone. We’ve gone from one to four kids in this van. It’s taken us on many car trips. The van has been with us through three houses and seen one million crumbs.
My minivan is like my second home because if I’m not at home, I’m driving kids to and from places. While we are still in that Minivan Life for at least another 5-7 years, I wouldn’t change a thing.
On the other hand, sometimes I dream about driving a little two seater sports car like an Audi R8, where it’s just me and the road (and no crumbs or weird smell).
What kind of car do you drive?
