How To Enjoy Life Like A Dog Sticking It’s Head Out The Window

November 20, 2019

As I was driving home from the store this morning, a truck was tailing me in our neighborhood. I thought about where he needed to be so quickly. It didn’t really bother me that he was being impatient, because I am sometimes that person.

Instead, I chose to see the situation from his point of view. The first thing that came to mind is that he really had to go to the bathroom and I was not going fast enough for him. I create a story in my head as to why this person is on my butt. I wasn’t going that slow actually, but he definitely had somewhere to be.

Lately, I’ve been slowing down more intentionally, not rushing to be everywhere. I still have my moments (like when I’m getting the kids ready for school), but for the most part I keep reminding myself how I want to enjoy life.

So Mr. Guy In The Truck behind me. I see you and I recognize that I was not on your timetable. I hope you got to where you needed to be.

How do you handle impatient drivers?
