For the last couple weeks, I’ve been in high gear mode, prepping for our trip then going on our trip, finally returning from our trip and getting right back into everything. My days were filled from start to finish.
Today, the hubs is off to visit his mom and what that means for me is a big, fat couch and my book (or some Netflix). Towards the end of our trip, I picked up the sniffles which is my body’s way of telling me to slow down and take time for myself.
This morning I paused, did some restorative yoga, a 20 minute meditation and a walk with the dog. All things I need to take care of me. For the past month, it’s definitely been about everyone else and now it’s time to refocus on me to be healthy so I can be the best mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend to others.
I might take a nap today. I might watch a movie. I might finish a book. What I definitely will do is stop and recognize that today is all about rest, relaxation and recuperating from the whirlwind of activities fluttering through my life.
How do you wind down after a crazy season of life?
