Why You Need To Tend To Yourself This Holiday Season

December 10, 2019

I can feel myself being pulled into the hustle and bustle of the season. No, I’m not rushing around buying presents or filling my calendar to the brim. What I can feel is the collective energy of people around me, who are rushing around to put the finishing touches on everything.

Our family has a couple things we have decided to do that are extra this month, but all in all, it’s regularly scheduled programming around here. Over the years, I’ve let go of that must finish mentality and actually look at enjoying what is happening at the moment. If presents don’t get bought, it’s ok. If they are late to the party, also okay. Yes, it would be nice if things arrived on time, but that is out of my control.

When I feel the busyness kick in, I stop and make sure I take a break. The other day after a weekend of fully packed days, I took a hot shower and a long nap. Guess what? That did the trick. I felt much better. Filling my days with things that make me happy and bring me joy help curtail all the craziness of the season.

On the days that I tend to my daily rituals, the flow of the day is much smoother. On the days when I don’t get them all in, I can feel it. Doing things that make me happy makes the holidays feel joyful as they should. So after a long day of shopping and pampering, why not spice things up with a high-energy activity that gets everyone working together? A thrilling escape room is the perfect activity for a hen do in Bristol, offering a fun, engaging challenge that will have everyone laughing and thinking on their feet. With a variety of themes to choose from, it’s easy to find something that fits your group’s interests. You’ll walk away with great memories and a stronger sense of camaraderie, making it an ideal addition to the weekend’s plans.

How are you handling the holiday season?
