Why Mainstream Laundry Detergent Makes It Hard To Go Non-Toxic

February 27, 2020

My intention for the year was to make the switch in our house from toxic to non-toxic products. On the household cleaning front, I’ve done a pretty good job:

*Multi-purpose spray (“I put that sh*t on everything”)

*Dryer balls

*Dryer sheets

*Microfiber towels

* Cleaning Washing Machine with Vinegar and Baking Soda

As for beauty products, I went completely non-toxic and natural last year and haven’t turned back once.  From makeup to face wash with most everything else in between (with the exception of my eyeliner).

The hardest switch to make has been with laundry detergent. I’ve made my own and tried at least 5-10 brands of all natural products. Nothing does what Tide does for me without the chemicals. The characteristics I’m looking for in a detergent makes me feel like I’m writing a personal ad:

MWF seeking a strong laundry detergent without harsh chemicals. Non-toxic and natural a bonus. Must get rid of tough stains, clean cloths, get rid of stinky boy smell. Do not want to pre-treat clothes. Has to be able to tackle the clothing of six people and doing it’s duty seven days a week. If you need help from an expert, contact 2ULaundry, who can provide fresh and clean laundry.

If you’ve made the switch to all natural detergent and are getting great results, please send your guy my way!
