My Baby Is All Grown Up

Today my youngest turns 6! What does this even mean? We are officially out of the baby, toddler, preschooler stage of life. He is now definitely a big kid and I can’t believe it. I remember when he was born and I had a baby, toddler, preschooler and a kindergartener. It was such a crazy time in our life.

I had to be everything for everyone because they were all so dependent on me. Now it seems they only need me when they are hungry or can’t open something up. Otherwise, they can be left alone to their own defenses.

Now, it becomes about wanting to spend time with them and making sure that we do it. Birthdays are always a time for me to reflect on the past year and how far we’ve come since the days of chaos.

Sure, parenting never gets easier, it’s just different but my goal is to embrace every stage of life we are in at that very moment. Because now those days of when they were younger are only memories.
