How ironic that the first day of fall actually feels like fall? Last night we sat at my son’s football game in sweltering heat but this morning as I walked the kids to school, the chilly air was upon us. I don’t know how long this cooler air will last but I’m going to throw on a sweatshirt, maybe pull out the uggs and bask in the change of seasons.
I might also throw something in the crock pot and get out all my decorations. We will see, but I love embracing this new season with a fresh outlook. It’s time to bring out the blanket and heat up some golden milk. A warm drink and a book sounds about right after our jam packed weekend.
The fall weather knew just what I needed on this Monday. Many people dread this day of the week, but to me I get a fresh start and some downtime while my family is out of the house. It gives me the opportunity to do the things I want around the house and get my alone time in to decompress from the past week.
It’s days like this where I cherish the time I am able to spend at home. I know that this might be a season of life but I’m going to take it for all its worth.
What are you doing to welcome fall today?
