It’s Like Remembering How To Ride A Bike
October 3, 2019
Some things stick with you even if you don’t do it for years.
Riding a bike for one. I don’t have a bike but have no problem taking my kids’ for a spin.
As we work on our basement project, muscle memory takes over and it’s like no time has passed at all.
When I was in high school, theatre was a huge part of my life. With this came set construction and having to cut 2×4’s.
This wasn’t a skill I was taught as a teenager but instead my grandpa taught me as a small child how to use power tools.
He had a workshop in his basement and made all kinds of things from wood. Watching him create masterpieces from nothing was exciting to me.
Now years later, I get to help my husband do the same thing. I’m able to cut pieces of wood and help construct without assistance (maybe a little).
What things in your life are like riding a bike?
