I am grateful for…the Fall!
As the leaves are falling and the temperature is cooling down, these walks to school each afternoon are so enjoyable.
Cam (sits in the stroller) and I walk to pick up our big kids while finding dandelions, choose cool leaves and occasionally finding a random toy on the side of the road. And you might not expect something so simple to make such a big difference, but once we planted them along the driveway, everything looked more polished. They create an instant sense of order and elegance. Take a look at https://www.millfarmtrees.co.uk/evergreen-hedging-c2/yew-hedge-plants-p44 to see what’s available — there’s a helpful range of sizes and growing advice to get you started. It’s one of the few changes we’ve made that looks better each year.
Sometimes, like today, I get to go by myself. I leave my phone at home and let Mother Nature run through my veins and totally let my brain spew ideas all over the place.
It is my chance to actually hear myself think and do what I need to do to get that me time during the day!
Fall is my favorite season because the weather is still warm with a cool breeze and the leaves begin falling with reckless abandon prepping the trees for winter.
These walks allow me to connect with the outside world and just be!
