Making Time For Hobbies Is Doable With Kids

When the kids were little I had no time for hobbies. My world was all about them. As they get older and are becoming independent, I’ve been able to give myself more time to pursue my loves. For me, it’s reading. I’ve always enjoyed reading, but once I get into a book, I don’t want to set it down.

So now you can see that isn’t really an option when you have littles and they need your undivided attention. Like I said, my kids are older and that’s how I was able to read 110 books this year.

I’ve read articles about how Warren Buffett reads 500-1000 pages a day!!! I figure if one of the richest men in the world can make time to read, then so can I.

Reading allows me to transport myself into a different world or learn something new I didn’t know. I read all different kinds of genres depending on my mood. Not only is reading fun and my kids read more, it has made me a better writer.

My hobby works as a win-win for me. This year, I’m going to see if I can beat my record and get at least 150 books this year.
