My Alone Time Was Ruined By A Major Distraction
November 15, 2019
I let one huge distraction take away from the 20 minutes in my life where I am able to be alone with my thoughts.
My husband and I were texting one another back and forth when I glanced at the clock. If I was going to be able to get a walk in with the dog, now was the time. I didn’t want my husband to think I was ignoring him. Yes, I could have told him I would be back soon, but I didn’t.
The phone came with me on my walk. My sacred space was being taken over by anxious feelings even though the phone was in my pocket. The thing is, we only texted each other once during the whole walk but it was enough to take me out of the zone.
This was a huge reminder to why I don’t bring anything along with me on my walk with the dog. I use this time to generate ideas, talk things out and generally be one with nature.
Lesson learned!
Are there places you don’t take your phone?
