What Happened The Day I Traded Social Media For Writing

Social media has been a big part of my life ever since the days of MySpace and having a college email to log into Facebook. I remember the first time I dialed up into AOL and got my first ICQ account.

I’ve immersed since the beginning. I love telling my kids how I’m older than Google and YouTube. You really should have seen the looks on their faces.

The world of social media sucks me back in time and time again. The draw of personalize ads, perfectly curated timelines and ability to get a peek into people’s lives leads to wanting more.

Social media is basically legal voyeurism: the art of looking into the private lives of people. Sound familiar?
