As I sit here on Halloween night with my obligatory Reese Cup I took from one of the kids’ buckets, I am grateful for the time we have together to come up and use our creativity to concoct costumes and memories.

While my kids love dressing up and going Trick or Treating, they would rather come back to hand out candy. They love seeing whatever one else is and mingling with the neighbors.

We cranked the music at our house, spike some cider and have a grand ol’ time. As a family, we hand out candy till the last kid comes by. This year was our first year in this neighborhood and it was awesome seeing our police officers and fireman drive through to pass out candy to the kids.

Every year, we come up with a way to top ourselves with costumes and I always have one kid who I can count on for a repeat costume. This time of year reminds me how much fun we have together as a family.
