See What Happens When You Are Genuinely Happy For Your Friends’ Wins
August 27, 2019
Over the last couple years, I’ve taken social media breaks. I feel an anxiety as I find myself getting sucked into the scroll. The thing that arise is FOMO or jealously over the pictures people are posting. I know, I know, it’s only the highlight reel.
So the other day when I saw a friend was going on a trip and my sister got a new car, I realized that all I felt was happiness for them. I wasn’t jealous of what they were doing in their lives but instead felt excited along with them.
It’s taken me awhile to consciously know that other people’s wins have nothing to do with my happiness, so instead of Jonesin’ after their stuff, I’m genuinely happy for their successes. Not letting it reflect on all the good I have in my life.
So when a friend flits off to Europe, be happy for them. You have things in your life to share that are exciting for you as well.
What was the last best thing that happened in your life?
