Daily Gratitude

I am grateful for…the fall season!

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. The leaves are changing, the weather is cooling down which means I can make the switch for 24/7 flip flops to 24/7 ugg boots. Fall means football, tailgating, festivals, and heading out to the farm for everything APPLE!

I love me some Pumpkin Spice as well, but when I’m out at dinner and there is an apple dessert, that’s all me. I love the feeling of a good ol’ homemade apple pie. Our family does the french crust and it’s crispy on the outside and has thick juicy, soft apples in the middle. My mouth is literally salivating as I’m typing this.

Today, I took the kids out to the apple orchards to pick a bushel for eating, baking and applesaucing! We got out there and did what we needed to do then headed back to the general store to get some other essentials: cider, cider slushies and apple donuts. All scream fall. September is apple month and October is pumpkin month at our house.

I don’t know if it’s the cooler weather that makes fall activities with the kids so much more enjoyable or the fact that they are getting older and we can do more without me having to chase them all around.

I am grateful that we got to do this day all together and they already told me they want to go back when the Melrose apples are ready to go.
